Cailin nodded. "Okay... if you're sure." she said, a little uncertainly.
Spot, who had finally made it home, sat down on the porch, resting for a few minutes and planning out what he was going to say before going in the house. He hoped it didn't come down to fists again, he was already really sore from the fall.

" I'm sure," Max said, smiling a bit, "I better head dat way though..thanks by the way, for da food," he looked at her, "And if ya need anythin' don' be afraid ta ask me," he looked in her eyes for a bit, getting a little lost.

"Thanks again for helping me out today," Cailin said, looking right back into his eyes. "And for not hightailing it out of here when my dad went crazy." She laughed a little at that last part.

"It was nothin'," he said, then laughed, "Ya dad ain't too bad. . .I's met worse, lots worse..." he said the last bit under his breath, he needed to go, but got that awkward moment where he didn't know what to say or do to tell Cailin goodbye.

Cailin gave Max a quick hug goodbye, hoping that was okay, then smiled at him again. She liked Max a lot. He was the first person to be real with her in a long, long time and that meant a lot to her. "I'll see you at school tomorrow."

Max hugged her back, "See ya then," he headed off down the sidewalk, after forty minutes he reached his neighborhood, their neighbor hood was a bit shady, they hadn't had a drug bust in it in years, but it was still considered "the bad side of town" he came up to the front of the house, stopping when he saw Spot on the porch, hesistating, but turned up the sidewalk that led to the front stairs, he stood there, watching Spot, "Hey..." he said softly.

"Hey," Spot said, looking up at Max. He decided to go ahead and get it overwith. "Listen about yesterday... I was outta line. I know ya had it rough the past two weeks an' I shouldn've jumped down ya throat."

"It's fine, I's.....I haven't exactly been wondaful ta be around dese past two weeks.." he said, fiddling with the note in his pockets to keep from shaking, the withdrawl shaking had slowly been going away and getting worse at the same time.

"Mmm..I'm shakin' like terrets.." Max held his hand out, it was seizuring like crazy with the shakes, "Oh....Kiyoni's dead." he added, casually. "He ain' gunna be botherin' nobody anymoah," he debated on showing Spot the letter, but kept it in his jacket until he decided whether or not to.

"Ya feel any bettah now?" Spot asked Max, watching his hand shake. He knew Max had been itching to get Kiyoni back and he wasn't very surprised that he'd killed him. Spot knew he would kill anyone without thinking twice about it if they ever did something like that to Blondie. His ribs were protesting with every move he made, but he hid it well.

"A little.." to tell the truth Max was dying for a hit, he felt like throwing up what he'd just ate at Cailin's, and if he didn't get the shaking under control he was going to go crazy. But he wasn't going to admit that, he'd held all of those urges back through the dinner, and made himself eat. Now he just hoped he made it through the rest of the night.

Spot used the side of the house to gingerly pull himself to his feet. "Ya gonna be okay Max." he said, reassuringly. "Ya know ya not alone in dis."

~That Friday~ Race was passing out flyers, his uncle was going to be out of town, and him and Blink had planned an amazing party to commemorate getting detention on the first day of school. He'd been up all night printing the flyers off while his uncle got ready for his flight, and was functioning off of espresso this morning, "COME ONE COME ALL! ONE OF DA FOIST BIG PARTIES OF THE YEA!" he handed one to Max, who stared.
"Really Higgins?" MAx said, "for a detention?"
"Yeah! We broke our record!" Race said, grinning.
Max just shook his head and stuff it into his pocket, he'd woken up on edge, and wasn't the most agreeable this morning.

Blink was walking around with Race, his hands shoved in his pockets and a huge grin on his face.
Cailin stood by at her locker, taking out the books for her next class. The guy who had been hitting on her since the first day she had come to school, whose name she had learned was Jake, stood beside her, leaned back against the lockers next to hers. "So, Cailin... I was thinkin' maybe you and me could go to that party together. I'll pick ya up tomorrow night around 6, whaddya say?" Jake asked, hopeful. In addition to learning his name, Cailin had also learned that he was one of the biggest horndogs at this school and had slept with more than half of the very "overly-friendly" female population. "I don't think so Jake. I probably won't even go anyway." she said, closing her locker. Though it was tempting to bring this guy home just so Desmond would scare him off, she still didn't know many people at the school and thinking about a big party like that made her a bit nervous, especially with Jake. "Aww come on... I'll treat ya nice." Jake said, making a puppy dog face. Cailin shook her head no. "Sorry, Jake, I just... I'd rather not." She saw Max down the hallway out of the corner of her eye and smiled, waving at him. Jake saw. "Oh...you're friends with Max Conlon?" he said, sounding a little nervous now. Cailin nodded. "Yeah, he's the first person i met around here."
