"I'll go get Jack," David said, rushing out the door to find Jack, wherever he was, selling papes on the streets.
"How're you doing?" Lucky asked, sitting on the edge of the couch.

Blink stared at her, then obediently laid back down. "My brain feels like jell-O...my whole body does." he said. "What happened with Mari? Did you talk to her?"

She nodded. "I went to see her, acting like I just wanted to tell her my news. She started complaining about how you didn't show up, so I just went, 'Oh, you didn't know? He's been sick over the past few days. Out cold at the lodging house.' She didn't say another word after that."
